Walk-a-Bull
A walking-buddy prototype exploring how everyday campus journeys can become opportunities for connection, shared activity, and a more comfortable walking experience.
App design
& development.
I developed the Walk-a-Bull application, carrying out all of the app design and coding. My teammates handled documentation and strategy.
This division of responsibilities allowed me to focus on turning the walking-buddy concept into the working prototype shown below.
Recorded prototype walkthrough · Approximately two minutes. Screens, profiles, activity counts, ratings, and walking metrics shown in the demonstration are prototype content, not validated adoption or impact results.
Make the walk
a connection.
The team explored a familiar campus experience: students making routine journeys alone while opportunities to meet others pass by. Walk-a-Bull proposes a low-pressure way to connect people through short walks between everyday destinations.
The concept brings together student connection, walking activity, and campus mobility. Safety and administrative insights formed part of the proposed product direction.
From profile
to shared walk.
Set preferences
The walkthrough shows a profile flow with interests, preferred walk length, and availability. These inputs frame the proposed buddy-matching experience.
Discover walking buddies
Users can browse suggested partners, view profiles, and invite someone to walk. The dashboard brings suggested matches and a personal activity summary together.
Follow a walk
An in-progress screen presents the walking partner, route area, elapsed time, distance, and steps. These are demonstrated interface elements; live tracking and matching performance have not been independently validated here.
Think beyond
the screen.
The competition presentation proposed a campus pilot, student-led activation, and evaluation of walking activity, peer connections, and university mobility insights.
Safety assistance, connections to campus safety resources, and administrator analytics were part of the concept. They are presented as proposed capabilities, not verified production integrations or demonstrated safety outcomes.
Awarded
second place.
Walk-a-Bull received second place in the Product @UB Product Challenge. The project materials identify Zirah, Jayasaagar, and Edwin as the team presenting as Shamwari AI for PUB Champion Fall 2025.
The prototype and presentation document the product concept and user journey. A deployed campus service, completed pilot, or measured well-being improvement is not claimed.
